Privacy policy
This is a small editorial site and its privacy position is correspondingly short.
What we collect
- Basic server logs. Requests to the site generate standard log entries — a page address, a timestamp, a browser string and an IP address. These are used to keep the site running and to spot abuse, and they are discarded on a short rolling schedule.
- Aggregate visit counts. We look at which pages are read, in totals. We do not build profiles of individual readers and we do not track people across other websites.
- Email you send us. If you write to us, we hold your message and address for as long as it takes to deal with it.
What we do not do
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We do not run advertising networks on this site, and there are no accounts to create, so there is no password or profile to lose. We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising.
Third parties
Web fonts are loaded from an external provider, which means your browser makes a request to that provider when a page loads. Our hosting company processes traffic on our behalf. Neither receives any information from us beyond what is technically required to serve the page.
Your choices
You can block or clear cookies in your browser, and use tracking protection or an ad blocker, without breaking anything on this site. If you have written to us and want your message and address deleted, ask at editor@nhlroud.com and we will remove them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version replaces this page. Continuing to use the site after that means the new version applies.
